Great golf networking at the Investment Conference
Vipingo Ridge was the venue for the Kilifi County International Investment Conference (KCIIC) from 4th to 6th December.
This truly international event attracted over 1000 delegates each day, with very productive meetings and networking. To complete a very successful programme His Excellency Gideon Mung’aro, Governor of Kilifi County also sponsored a golf event to conclude with a competition and prizegiving.
103 golfers hit the greens of the PGA Baobab Course
The competition began at 10:30AM with a two-tee start from the first and the tenth.
A Stapleford format competition, we had a fantastic blend of local coastal golfers, including Captains and Lady Captains, Vipingo Ridge Members and of course a great turnout from the sponsors and delegates of the KCIIC. We were also delighted to welcome back Naomi Wafula, fresh from captaining the Kenya time in Morocco.
Play was flowing well and with generous prizes for a number of categories, including longest drive, best first 9, best second 9, the players were highly motivated and on great form.
National news coverage from the KTN team
The Duo from KTN, Anchors Frida and Lofty were on site for the competition, broadcasting live throughout the day.
Here’s a wrap up of the coverage:
Great Prizegiving Event to conclude the KCIIC
The crowds relocated from the Clubhouse to the Sundowner for the Dinner and Prizegiving.
Vipingo Ridge Golf Club Captain Richard Frost led proceedings, with a lively address before welcoming dignitaries from Kilifi County and H.E Gideon Mung’aro to thank everyone for joining the event.
The sponsors help hugely in making events like this a special occasion. Kilifi County was the title sponsor for the event, with support from Aquelle, Jambojet and Vipingo Ridge.
The prizes were extensive with amazing gifts organised by Kilifi County, Jambojet and Vipingo Ridge.
Players of various skill levels were able to take home prizes, as summarised by Captain Richard Frost, “Golf is such a special sport: people of all ages and abilities can join in thanks to the handicap system.”
Thank you to Kilifi County for their vision and execution of another fantastic event.
