Festive Fun Golf Events at the Ridge
Vipingo Ridge is known for a programme of fun events of all different interests over the December holidays, but of course our golf activities are core to the amazing opportunities to socialise, compete and enjoy the season.
As we close 2024 this season has been wonderful. Our Captain Richard Frost and the Golf Club Committee have worked with the Vipingo Ridge team to deliver a fantastic programme of events. Here’s a round of some of the highlights on the PGA Baobab Course.
Bring and Win Baobab Brunch - 22nd December
Considered the ‘Christmas Party’ of the Club, this fun 12 hole competition concludes at the stunning Baobab venue.
‘Secret Santa’ gifts exchanged and a scenic brunch over looking the PGA Baobab Course and the Chodari Hills.
Night Pitching - Friday 27th December
The last Friday of 2024 was the biggest of Clubnight competitions. The 9-hole competition is every Friday throughout the year for Members and guest players to join.
Following the Clubnight, the Night Pitching competition was very popular once again with over 30 players taking part. The competition is a 3 ball challenge to get nearest to the pin of the 9th green, pitching from the Clubhouse Veranda. It is great fun to see this format, both for the spectators, as well as those competing.
The winner was Sue Williamson who was only 30cm from the Pin, an outstanding shot. Dhruv Kavia came second and Ants Denton was third, both very good shots.
Texas Scramble - Sunday 29th December
We had a record entry list of 42 players for the End of the Year Texas Scramble on the final Sunday of 2024.
There were 2 competitions, the Teams of Three and Teams of Four.
This format is very popular as it is a lot of fun and no pressure on wayward players' shots from the deep rough. However there is always a demand for accuracy and the low scores proved how well everyone played.
