This past festive season, the Kids Club Programme of activities at Vipingo Ridge was filled with joy and excitement for little ones, and the whole family. With a stunning backdrop and a variety of engaging activities, we made truly unforgettable holiday memories. Every school holiday we have an exciting programme to entertain the children and parents, provide moments to relax and to enjoy your time together.
Festive Fun for all the family
Vipingo Ridge is well known for our family friendly activities in the school holidays, and as ever, this past December provided an extraordinary family experience, making it a delightful spot for creating beautiful memories.
The Christmas festivities included visits from Santa Claus, festive games at our new sports club, pony trekking, and Christmas Carols all perfect for making cherished family memories. Guests enjoyed specially curated Christmas meals featuring a special buffet with roast turkey at the Clubhouse and seafood platters at the Vipingo Ridge Beach Club.
The stunning coastal backdrop set the scene for festive brunches, intimate white themed parties, golf events and activities and memorable Christmas dinners at the Clubhouse Restaurant.
Families enjoyed a perfect blend of luxury, nature, and festive cheer, with fun-filled activities for children and serene moments for adults. With spacious accommodations, family-friendly events, and a variety of outdoor adventures, Vipingo Ridge ensured that every family member had a fantastic time during the holiday season.
Kids Club Activities - Merry Kids-Mas!
We had 11 sessions of the Vipingo Ridge Kids Club activity, 3 times per week all through the festive season which were on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays every week of the school holidays.
Our Kids Clubs at Vipingo Ridge were packed with fun and engaging activities.
We had a variety of activities such as paint splash, a nature walk with the rangers, and children’s arts and crafts. Children discovered the stunning landscapes where they got to see the zebra, impala, eland, oryx, and waterbuck.
These activities are categorized by age, which allows all ages to do all the activities. The families were given ample time to interact during the sessions as the kids also interacted and played together in teams. The games are beneficial to the kids as they help improve their psychosocial abilities.
Creative moments with paint splash Kids loved our paint splash event, where they unleashed their artistic sides with brushes and vibrant colors. It was all about having fun and creating unique masterpieces to take home.
Adventurous Ranger Walks For the little explorers, our ranger walk was a highlight! Guided by expert rangers, children discovered the stunning landscapes and local wildlife while learning about nature and conservation. It was a fantastic way to inspire their love for the outdoors.
Energetic taekwondo classes Our taekwondo classes offered an exciting introduction to martial arts. Led by friendly instructors, kids learned powerful techniques while building confidence and teamwork in a fun environment.
Crafty creations In our arts and crafts sessions, children dived into various creative projects, from making festive decorations to designing unique cards. They cherished taking home their handmade treasures.
Kids Clubs create time for parents
The Kids Club at Vipingo Ridge truly delivered joy and adventure this holiday season. With activities for every interest, kids made new friends and created unforgettable memories. It was a delightful celebration filled with exciting adventures.
Kids Clubs are three hours in the mornings, three times a week, and during the Kids Club activities, adults had ample free time to relax and enjoy their pursuits. While the kids engaged in fun and engaging supervised activities, parents took the opportunity to unwind, whether by exploring the beautiful surroundings, playing golf or simply enjoying a quiet moment at the new Pool Gardens or in their villas.
This free time allowed adults to recharge while their children enjoyed a variety of activities tailored to their age groups, creating a perfect balance between family bonding and personal relaxation. The experience ensured that everyone left with cherished memories and a sense of rejuvenation from their holiday at Vipingo Ridge. Family Evening Entertainment
During the festive season, kids came together for a special Kid’s movie night. Every Friday during the holidays there were age appropriate movies shown on the big screen. Early evening an age appropriate U or PG seasonal movie and later for teenagers. Popcorn flowing and fresh pizzas available make for a fun evening for all the family.
Top 5 Festive Events Highlights
Everyday during the school holidays there are events, activities, clubs and social occasions at Vipingo Ridge, and this festive season was no exception. Here are our top 5 family events over the festive season:
1. Children’s Boules Tournament
The Boules Tournament took place on December 18th December at the Sundowner. It was a fun- filled event open to all children staying in the villas and homeowners at Vipingo Ridge. As the afternoon started, the kids gathered in the tournament area, excited to show off their skills and have fun playing. Parents cheered from the sidelines, supporting their little ones as they took their turns.
The friendly competition brought everyone together, making it an enjoyable event for all. The children not only played in teams but also made new friends, shared smiles and enjoyed being outside. Tasty snacks and drinks were available, which added to the happy atmosphere.
In the end, the tournament was about more than just winners; it was about enjoying the community and having a great time. The main prize for the winning teams? Two scoops of icecream, for the runners up they were delighted with their voucher for 1 scoop. It was a wonderful afternoon organised by our Boules Captain Bizzie Frost that everyone enjoyed.
2. Annual Vipingo Ridge Triathlon
Triathlon at Vipingo Ridge in 2024 was an exciting and challenging event for athletes of all levels. This scenic competition featured a combination of swimming, cycling, and running. The activity started at the Beach Club, with the swim and spectators based at there. The cycling and running took participants through to the landscape of Vipingo Ridge.
Participants kicked off the triathlon with a refreshing swim in the sparkling waters, followed by a thrilling bike ride through the stunning hills and valleys. Finally, runners tackled a scenic course, enjoying the breathtaking views along the way. The event not only focused on competition but also encouraged a sense of community and sportsmanship. Athletes competed individually or formed teams, making it a great way to bond with friends while staying active.
3. Christmas at the Ridge
Christmas day at the Clubhouse was a magical experience filled with joy and celebration. families gathered to enjoy a festive feast that featured a delicious buffet with mouthwatering roast turkey. The beautifully decorated restaurant created a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for sharing special moments with loved ones.
The team at the Clubhouse went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt festive and welcomed. From live jazz music to heartwarming decorations, every detail contributed to a memorable Christmas celebration. It was a day of togetherness, good food, and joyful moments.
Santa even made an appearance at the Ridge (as he does each year just before the big day). Dressed in his red suit, Santa arrived at the Beach Club in style, waving and spreading holiday cheer. The children’s faces lit up with happiness when they saw him, and they rushed over with big smiles.
4. Boxing Day Cricket at the Driving Range
A new tradition in it’s second year, Vipingo Ridge held a family Boxing Day Cricket event at our Driving Range at the PGA Academy, turning the holiday into a fun day for families and sports fans.
The lively atmosphere brought the community together to celebrate cricket with activities for all ages. Our team organized a fun cricket game, kindly umpired by the Homeowners, welcoming participants of all skill levels. Guests enjoyed refreshments, including Pimms and Bloody Marys, as well as coffee and fresh mandazis, creating a relaxed and festive vibe. The morning event not only encouraged physical activity but also strengthened community connections, as friends and families mingled and shared their love for the game.
5. Race of the Savannah: An Unforgettable Circus Show
This spectacular event combined the acrobatics full of thrill, circus performers, and the spirit of the African savannah, who were committed to entertaining us. The ‘Race of the Savannah’ circus asked guests to embark on a journey through the wild, showcasing talented performers who the beauty and excitement of the Kenyan talent.
The show took everyone on an adventure, with performers dressed in colourful costumes and dancing joyfully. There were all kinds of acts, like incredible acrobats and brave aerialists to funny clowns and emotive dances all focusing on expressing the emotions of the race across the savannah. The performers did awesome tricks, and the live music made the show even more enjoyable.
People enjoyed the variety of acts, which included skilled acrobats, and daring acts while high up in the air with fire. The energy on stage was exciting, and the beats of traditional African music created a special atmosphere. Race of the Savannah was made to be family-friendly, so guests of all ages could have a great time watching the show.
