Play Padel at the new Sports Club
Vipingo Ridge is well known for golf. We are the only PGA branded golf course in Africa, and recently won the title ‘Africa’s best golf real estate venue’.
What many people do not know is that as well as an exclusive residential estate, we are one of the premier holiday destinations at the Kenya Coast. We have ocean view and golf course view accommodation, three restaurants and many venues for fun events. We have reently expanded our offering of activities to do at the Ridge when staying with us.
Creating more activities at the Ridge
Alongisde our PGA Baobab Championship Golf Course, we have the PGA Academy, driving range and three putting greens. But what if not everyone in your group plays golf?
In December 2024 our Members were able to get a preview of the newest activities introduced at Vipingo Ridge. Our carefully designed new Sports Club includes a number of different sports courts and facilities, as well as the appropriate equipment avaialble to hire.
Over 1500 native plants introduced
An important part of our development work is to do the right thing. For the Sports Club we have retained almost all of the trees, maximising the shade of the existing planting. The team have also planted over 50 native trees and 1500 indigenous plants into the landscaped space, creating a new garden that will continue to improve over time.
The whole area is fenced with a main access point, making it a great child friendly option for exploring and playing. Outside of the fence we have planted a hedge for screening.
This hedge is 4 metres deep and includes a great number of native hedgerow plants and small trees. Our ambition is for this to be fantastic habitat for birds in particular, as it creates food, shelter and nesting spots for our local and migratory birds.
Accessibility Credentials
The design of the Sports Club includes curving paved pathways (to accessibility standards) leading to viewing areas, as well as flat lawns for sitting and relaxing.
We have also introduced a new Sports Bar area, which will serve sports drinks as well as a selection of refreshing cold favourites. making this a great spot for participants and spectators.
The Padel Court is also floodlit to encourage play in the cooler times of the day, this also means that the whole Sports Club complex is well lit at night offering visibility and safe pathways.
