Senior Golfers Society of Kenya Shines at Vipingo Ridge PGA Baobab Course

Vipingo Ridge played host to the Senior Golfers Society of Kenya Competition, which took place on 7th September 2024.

The competition featured 142 talented golfers from across the country, divided into three teams: The Senior Golfers Society of Kenya, Kenya Golf Seniors, and Coast Golfers.

The Results

In a closely fought contest, The Senior Golfers Society of Kenya secured a hard earned victory with an impressive 410 points. Their closest rivals, Kenya Golf Seniors, followed with 398 points, while Coast Golfers finished in third place with 334 points.

The event underscored the significance of senior golfing competitions in Kenya, offering a platform for seasoned golfers to showcase their skills while fostering community and camaraderie within the golfing fraternity. As the only certified PGA Course in the continent, Vipingo Ridge provided the perfect backdrop for the tournament, elevating the players’ experience with its world-class facilities and stunning coastal views.

The day’s agenda included a rigorous and highly competitive round of golf, with 6 balls at the tee and greensomes format to play: a team of two with the players taking alternate shots (apart from the first where both team mates play), alternating until the hole is complete. The game was of course punctuated by moments of sportsmanship and collaboration between the competing teams. Distinguished golfers from various parts of the country gathered not just to compete, but also to network, share insights, and celebrate the sport that binds them.

Vipingo Ridge continues to be a beacon of excellence in the world of golf, and this latest seniors competition further solidifies our reputation as a prime destination for both local and international golfing events.
