Kenya coast tour operators 'Best AGM ever'
Vipingo Ridge was delighted to be selected as the venue for the recent KATO (Kenya Association of Tour Operators) Coast Chapter’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Vipingo Ridge is well-known at the Coast for an unbeatable golf experience, but for many tour operators it was an opportunity to explore a hidden gem for their clients, as they learned more about what Vipingo Ridge has to offer.
60 Tour Operators visit Vipingo Ridge
The Members of the Coast Chapter of KATO arrived promptly at Vipingo Ridge with a full day programme ahead of them.
Greeted at the Hub with madafus (for a sample of local coconut water), before heading to the airconditioned Shariani Conference Centre, delegates enjoyed bottomless coffee and selected local snacks before the agenda for the day commenced.
Vipingo Ridge’s Chief Executive Alex Horsey was granted the opportunity to present Vipingo Ridge to the assembled guests, and took the opportunity to present the compelling and diverse proposition for tourism clients.
Alex highlighted the 2000 acres of greenery and wildlife and the opportunity for guests to experience the outlets and the Beach Club, as well as the new Sports Club that opened in December, that creates a much broader experience for guests beyond our iconic PGA Baobab Golf Course.
He has also proudly explained that the combination of renovations of our Signature Villas accommodation that began in late 2023, and the recent Gold Rating by the Kenya Tourism Authority (KTA) meant that Vipingo Ridge is guest ready.
KATO Explore The Ridge
Following the AGM, guests were welcomed to the new outlet at Vipingo Ridge, the Pool Gardens where they enjoyed a buffet lunch and selected their afternoon programme. On their walk through the Resort, one of the local cultural groups offered some coastal entertainment, while the giraffe of Vipingo Ridge Wildlife Sanctuary looked on.
Most guests selected the opportunity to tour the accommodation at the Signature Villas, impressed our recently refurbished spacious rooms. Other guests familiar with the Ridge opted to have a fun golf activity, before everyone united at the Clubhouse Rooftop for afternoon tea and the sunset. Guests departed at their leisure with a fresh view of Vipingo Ridge.
